Let all that you do be done in love’ 1 Corinthians 16:14
The thought of Valentine’s Day has the tendency to warm our hearts on cold winter days as we cuddle next to the fire with a book and a hot cup of cocoa. There’s no better time to think about the warmth of God’s love and the numerous ways we put it to action at home, at church and all over the world!
In Action at Home
God’s love is in action when we interact with our circle of friends, our family and pretty much anyone we come into contact with on a daily basis! We listen to our neighbor’s when they tell us about obstacles or joyous moments. We are generous with our time, tithe and materials. We encourage one another when completing milestones and our simple little acts of kindness always go a long way to a stranger!
In Action at Church
God’s love is always on the move in our church when we reach out to our members and community alike. We encourage fellow members to become involved in Sunday school, choir, Bible Study, etc. God’s love abounds when we fellowship together during luncheons and other traditional events. Our church engages with our community by providing a food pantry, housing the Meals on Wheels program and working alongside the community center as they provide financial help or various goods to those in need.
In Action Around the World
God’s love isn’t limited to our home or community. Missionary programs expand the globe; allowing us to bring the Gospel directly to a person’s doorstep! Missionaries work extensively to help communities restore property or build long-term Christian Education programs. Others assist without even leaving home by supporting toy and food drives or providing funds for Bibles and other educational materials.
Notice anything missing?
PRAYER!!! We can think of a thousand ways to minister to those around us but it goes nowhere without prayer. The Holy Spirit guides our heart to see the needs of His people. He opens every door and creates infinite opportunities so that God’s love is actively flowing through each and every one of us!
How will you put God’s love in action today?
